James Town will be the most vibrant town in Accra from August 23-24, 2014, as it accommodates one of the most innovative street art projects ever – the Fourth Annual Chale Wote Street Art Festival organized by Accra dot Alt.
The festival, which is a creative display of various disciplines in art, music, dance and performance, will take place in the street and key historical buildings at James Town.
With a “vision to cultivate a wider audience for the arts in West Africa by breaking creative boundaries and using art as a viable form to rejuvenate public spaces,” Accra dot Alt is truly connecting communities and artists through art with this fascinating project.
This year’s theme, “Death: An Eternal Dream Into Limitless Rebirth,” beautifully encapsulates the festival’s vision of using art as a practical medium to restore public spaces.
Over 200 artists in Accra are expected to collaborate at this year’s art festival.
