Thank you for joing us in acknowledging Domestic Violence Awareness Month through the publishing of the fictional short story, “A Rhetorical Question” by Pietra Dunmore. Part 1 has ended and we’ll be moving on to part two on October 7th, but before that we’re interested to know your thoughts on the story so far. Read the excerpt below extracted from part 1 of the story and let’s start dialouging based on the question below:
“I really liked the relationship I had with him and vowed to myself not to mess it up by thinking that I might want something more. I had become like a sister to him and we were open to speak about nearly everything. Although I was attracted to him, I was afraid that an actual relationship would destroy the gentle ebb and flow that we had.”
Question: Rhetoric’s character seems fun, wordy, insightful, and spontaneous. He also shows signs of a possible drinking and substance abuse problem. The two have an obvious chemistry with a love of art, music, and literature… so why do you think the main character decides to date Craig instead of Rhetoric?
Don’t miss Part 2 of “A Rhetorical Question” to be published on October 7th!
