Spinach Sauteed With Garlic Side Dish Recipe

Bowl of baby spinach

Garlic sautéed spinach is one of the easiest green recipes to make. It’s packed with calcium, folic acid, vitamins A and C, fiber, iron, zinc, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and other useful minerals. The best part about this recipe is that most of the ingredients you will need may already be in your kitchen. It’s an amazing side dish to have for lunch or dinner.  Now, how is this nutrient-rich recipe made? Let’s get into the process.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds baby spinach leaves
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons chopped garlic (6 cloves)
Salt (To taste)
¾ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
¾ teaspoon dry oregano
¾ teaspoon dry basil
1 teaspoon rosemary
1/2 small fresh onion chopped into small pieces

Preparation:
Ensure your spinach is washed thoroughly with cold water. If you own a salad spinner, you can spin it dry to get rid of the water on it.  Alternatively, you can simply pat the spinach dry with a clean kitchen cloth or paper towel.

Heat the olive oil in a pot large enough to contain the spinach leaves, and sauté the garlic for 1 minute under medium heat. Once it has browned, add all of the ingredients, including enough salt to taste and then toss it. Allow to cook, covered, for 2 minutes.  Open the pot and stir while the spinach cooks for an additional minute or until wilted. Serve hot.
