Did you know that a cup of regular black coffee, without milk and sugar, contains about 2 calories?
A recent article by Harvard Health Publishing reported some potential health benefits of coffee. This included low risk of cardiovascular diseases, liver cancer and type 2 diabetes. In June 2016, another report by the WHO revealed a lift of coffee from the list of potentially carcinogenic foods. So what does this mean to the coffee drinker?
It means that coffee is not bad for your health after all. When you consume the beverage you’re getting a good dose of antioxidants, substances known to counteract the damaging effects of free radicals in the human body.
While recent research has disputed claims of several studies that linked caffeine consumption to heart problems, it is still wise to drink the beverage in moderation. If you must have it everyday, one cup may be just right.
