Black woman listening to inspiring podcasts

Podcasts are not only entertaining, but also convenient because we can listen to them on-the-go. Stuck in traffic? Listen to a podcast. Working out? Podcasts are great options. The question now is: What podcasts are you listening to? Some people love to listen to inspiring programs that provide nourishment and motivation in the morning. While others enjoy listening to true crime to lull them to sleep. Maybe you are just browsing and thinking about delving into the world of podcasts, we have something to satisfy your interest. Here are our recommendations of some podcasts by inspiring women in the scene; some are known, and others just making a name for themselves.

Oprah’s Super Soul

Who isn’t a fan of Oprah? Oprah’s weekly Super Soul Sunday podcast is inspiring and aims at shaking you to your core. It pushes you to discover and connect with the deeper meaning of life and the world around you. She interviews specifically selected thought-leaders, authors, and wellness experts. They then take you through a breakdown of their works. They also  guide you through some of the biggest questions that you may have about life to awaken your best self and connect deeply with the things around you.

The Broad Experience

In this pioneering podcast, Ashley Milne-Tyte discusses some of the common issues faced by women in the workplace. This podcast explores everything ranging from sexism, race, unequal salary payment, and conflict resolution. Basically just about every workplace discussion that should be talked about. This includes juggling a career with being a professional working woman. It’s the voice you may not have known that you needed to hear or didn’t realize needed to be expressed. The Broad Experience is truly a women-centered experience.

 Girl in om

Think of a safe space for Black women. This is a podcast that teaches you how to nurture and care for yourself while learning how to build intimate relationships with the people around you. It educates you on how to cultivate sisterhood instead of the competitive and suffocative space that has been the narrative of Black women for so long. From words of affirmation to free meditation sessions. And through conversations and interviews with women of substance, they aim  to transform Black women.

Living from the Heartspace

This is an upcoming podcast centered on love and sharing spiritual knowledge and wisdom. Once proclaiming that her religion is love, Zara, the host, brings words of wisdom and a call for others to live from a space of constant love. She showcases that healing doesn’t always have to be heard. It can also be fun and filled with sarcasm and laughter. Her motto is “bridging the gap across spirituality” because humanity doesn’t need any more divisions. According to her, all the labels and separation just promote an “us vs them” mentality. This may then breed discord and a lack of community. It’s only through promoting true love for all of mankind that we can begin to be able to care for our neighbors.

Rotten Mango

Hosted by Stephanie Soo and Ramble, Rotten Mango is the podcast for true crime/mystery aficionados. In her promotion, she gives a breakdown of the suspect’s or criminal’s life for her audience to acknowledge the humanity of the person. In this way, we may understand the mental framework of the criminal. Rotten Mango shows us that truly, anyone can be a cold-blooded killer. Yes, even the most innocent-looking ones.
