For over two decades, Esi Arhin has worked as a reporter, presenter and producer with reputable media organizations in Ghana. She has conducted interviews with prominent figures in Ghana and around the world, providing viewers with insights into important news stories and events. Her passion and contributions have earned her a seat and wide recognition in the media industry in the country as a talented and respected journalist.
She has ruled
Perhaps one of her notable contributions can be her work on TV Africa’s flagship program dedicated to women, Obaa Mbo, executive produced by award-winning, legendary Ghanaian filmmaker Kwaw Ansah.
“Working on the program further sensitized and conscientize me on the plight, achievements and aspirations of women,” she reflects.
“Many of their experiences were similar. This made me realize the great value in sharing our experiences as women, not just of our successes but also of failures. This gives even more allowance for us to not just aspire to greater things but also to stay on the course of pursuit of our goals and keep at it regardless of the challenges. There are ways,” Arhin adds with passion.
In 2012, she co-hosted the groundbreaking, award-winning corporate social responsibility initiative, Airtel ‘Touching Lives’, where traveled extensively across Ghana to showcase contributions of nominees of the program.
Arhin is an alumni of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), the premier professional exchange program by the U.S. Department of State. The program is accessed only through nomination by the staff at U.S. Embassies around the world.
And is still ruling
Today, she considers herself a social engineer and provides consulting and content production services for PlayHows Multimedia & Hospitality Services (PMHS), which she founded in 2020. Arhin is also working on a KodeIT EdTech initiative that seeks to hone the IT skills of young Ghanaians with a special focus on women to set them on the path of marketing themselves on the global platform.
An advocate for the projection of African values, Arhin is also very passionate about women’s issues and comments, “I’m enamored with the theme for IWD 2023,” referencing the message for this year’s International Women’s Day celebrations – Embrace Equity.
“Given the integration of technology in our everyday lives today, it’s important that women not only embrace it but also get involved.”
Guilty pleasure?
“I love watching cartoons I watched as a child. In fact, I hunt for them. Charlie brown, Fireman Sam,” she unashamedly confesses.
She is a proud and dedicated single mother of five.
