This week, Nigerian-American actress and comedian, Yvonne Orji, topped our list of African women with big stories – she hosted the 49th International Emmy awards which took place on Nov. 22 at the Great Hall of Casa Cipriani in New York.

Last year, she secured an Emmy nomination for her role as Molly in the hit HBO series “Insecure.” In May 2021, she released a book titled “Bamboozled by Jesus: How God Tricked Me into the Life of My Dreams,” which features secrets to living the life of your dreams. She is currently working with Disney Plus on an autobiographical comedy entitled “First Gen,” which she is executive producing.
